HEALTH & WELLNESS HOSTS
I spotlight the people and practices behind one of the world’s oldest wellness beverages — tea.
I’d love to join you on your podcast to explore how tea is experiencing a renaissance among health-conscious consumers — not just as a soothing ritual, but as a functional beverage supporting immune health, gut balance, mental clarity, and more. With over 50 years of experience in journalism and two decades of focus exclusively on the global tea trade, I bring both a journalistic eye and deep industry knowledge to conversations about how tea intersects with culture, wellness, and sustainability.
Topics your audience may find valuable:
- The science-backed health benefits of teas and tisanes (antioxidants, L-theanine, adaptogens)
- Why wellness brands are pivoting toward clean-label, functional RTD teas
- Sustainable and ethical sourcing in tea: what consumers should know
- Cultural tea rituals that promote mindfulness and balance
If you’re looking for a timely, insightful guest to connect the dots between wellness trends and centuries-old tea traditions, I’d be honored to contribute.
HOSTS INTERESTED IN BEVERAGE BUSINESS INSIGHTS FOR TEA AND COFFEE
As a veteran journalist and industry commentator, I have explored the global tea trade, specialty beverage trends, and the complex dynamics that shape our industry from crop to cup over the past 20 years. I’d be honored to share with listeners timely insights on how geopolitical tensions, tariff escalation, and shifting consumer demand are disrupting global tea and coffee supply chains.
Key topics I can contribute to your audience:
- How cumulative U.S. tariffs on Chinese tea (now exceeding 150%) are reshaping sourcing strategies
- Why specialty tea and coffee importers are increasingly pivoting toward Africa, Latin America, and South Asis
- Legal vs. practical tariff workarounds — from Free Trade Zones to contract manufacturing
- Trade war consequences: rising costs, delayed shipments, and the return of trade protectionism
- Insights from origin: firsthand stories from tea producers in Kenya, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Tanzania
If your audience includes specialty importers, exporters, and retail strategists navigating today’s volatile trade environment. I’d be happy to share actionable takeaways rooted in years of global tea market coverage and over five decades of journalism experience.
Education
I worked my way through college as a professional firefighter in Manhattan, Kansas. During the years 1974-1977 I reported for the Daily Collegian as a staff writer, columnist, and editorial page editor. Earned 4.0 in Journalism courses and published my first magazine article in Popular Science Homeowner's How-To Handbook on studies that showed a correlation between the installation of in-home smoke detectors.
